MSc, PgDip, BA (Hons)
Annie is trained to work specifically with children and teenagers from ages 3 to 18 and graduated with a Masters degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents from University of London (Birkbeck). She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents.
Since 2017, Annie has provided counselling in schools and she continues to work as a counsellor at a primary school, alongside her private practice. She also has experience of working as a volunteer mentor and Learning Support Assistant at both primary and secondary level. Annie is a student member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), following both bodies’ ethical guidelines and she holds an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate (formerly CRB).
Annie works with children and young people in a safe, confidential one-to-one setting, and also collaboratively with parents, ensuring that the aims and progress of therapy are tracked together. Depending on what’s appropriate for the young person, she uses a combination of active listening, creative work and play therapy to help them communicate and feel understood.
Annie charges £50 per session and advises that a minimum of 12 sessions may be required to build trust and allow for meaningful progress in the therapy.
Annie has experience of working with:
Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Emerging eating disorders
Grief and loss
Racism and cross-cultural issues
Separation anxiety and attachment issues
