Toni is a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, working with adults and young people. She is an accredited member of the BACP, which means she has much experience in counselling, and knowledge of working with a variety of issues and age groups. In addition to this she has over twenty years working with young people in education. Toni offers both long-term and time limited counselling, where it is possible to work together on how you may be feeling now, as well as looking at the impact of the past.
Counselling can help by exploring some of the roots of present day difficulties and looking at new ways of self-acceptance and relating to others. Sometimes it can explore a feeling that something is just 'not right' and you are struggling to connect with others or make the most of opportunities. Toni has experience in helping people through feelings of loss, anxiety and depression, as well as coping with changes in their lives. She has also worked with those who feel they need to process past experience and trauma in order to move on successfully. One of the most important features of individual counselling is the ability to have a positive experience of relating to others and, the most important factor, allowing the chance of being listened to and understood .
Toni works both face to face at The Practice in Guildford and also on Zoom. She has further training and experience in safeguarding, working with ASD, trauma, ADHD, eating disorders, self-harm, post- partum depression and learning difficulties. She has worked successfully with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship and family difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, and abuse, as well as those who find it harder to 'name' the way they are feeling and exploring what might lay behind this.
