BSc Nutrition and Dietetics, Member HCPC, member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), the BDA Mental Health, Paediatric and Autism Specialist Groups.

BACK TO PRACTITIONERS

Jackie is a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), the BDA Mental Health, Paediatric and Autism Specialist Groups. She has degrees in both Nutrition and Dietetics (King’s College, London) and Psychology University of Warwick).

Jackie works with children, adolescents and adults and her clinical experience spans across a range of community and inpatient settings within the NHS including acute London hospitals, inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and both adult and adolescent eating disorder services.

Within her private practice, Jackie works with clients on all issues with food relating to mental health from optimising nutrition, food anxiety, dieting concerns to disordered eating and diagnosed eating disorders.  She has worked with many clients who additionally experience IBS symptoms or follow vegetarian or vegan diets.

Jackie has received further training and experience working with clients with autism, sensory processing differences and ADHD and is passionate about adapting treatments within this context.

She uses a trauma informed approach, tackling nutrition through a non-diet, health at every size (HAES) lens.  Calling on the latest evidence-based treatments and principles of gentle nutrition, Jackie works in a compassionate and collaborative way to achieve sustainable behaviour change and a healthier relationship with food.

When working with young people, sessions usually involve both the young person and their parents, sometimes together and sometimes separately, to provide the right amount of support and plans that work in their lived family experience. It may also include working with nurseries, schools and universities, and Jackie is experienced liaising with both private and state education sectors.

And whilst it’s not a professional qualification, Jackie is also a mother of 3 children and appreciates the ups and downs of feeding a family!
