BACK TO PRACTITIONERS

Chris is an integrative-relational counsellor / psychotherapist who works in the NHS and in private practice.

His integrative training means he can choose from a range of psychotherapy models to tailor the therapy to suit you and your individual needs. He will take care to understand you as an individual and what you wish to achieve from your work together. He sees the value in working collaboratively towards achieving what you feel you need to improve your life.

Therapy can be for those who are in crisis and in need of support or for people who are curious to know and understand themselves better or wish to make changes in their lives. For Chris counselling is an investment in oneself which can help people to live a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Therapy is effective when we have an open-minded approach and a willingness to challenge ourselves, old patterns, and behaviours which may no longer be working for us. Chris understands that reaching out for help and starting therapy can be a daunting experience and he will take care to make you feel at ease and to build trust in the early sessions. He offers a confidential, safe and holding space where you will work together to explore what is happening for you, and how you might want to implement change in your life.

He is interested in and committed to working with people who are motivated to work through life problems, whatever they might be and believes in the mantra what we get out what we put in - this is applicable to both him and his clients. Counselling can be about having a curiosity about oneself, a thirst for understanding or a desire to supplement change in your life.

He has experience working with abuse, anxiety, anger, grief, depression, guilt, shame, relationship breakdowns, infidelity, identity difficulties, big life changes, childhood or adult trauma, self esteem, and toxic masculinity.

Before training as a therapist Chris had a career in the construction industry as an industrial abseiler, working throughout the UK and abroad as rope access technician, supervisor and office-based manager. This has given Chris the experience of working in environments where trust and professionalism is paramount, and he is able to connect with people from all walks of life.

Chris offers brief therapy over 12 sessions or can work long term or open ended if required.

Chris charges £65 per 50 minute session.
