BACK TO PRACTITIONERS

Andrea is an Existential Psychotherapist. Andrea enjoys working with any issue you bring, whilst being aware of your familial and wider existential context. Andrea has a strong interest in the way we carry, in our bodies, past trauma, stresses of day-to-day life and she works towards integrating into her existential practice understanding from psychomotor psychotherapy. The wider field of a client’s life – the traumas and relationship patterns that can get carried down the generations within a family and their impact upon us is of interest to Andrea.

Andrea believes in the importance of feeling heard and in shedding light on the thoughts and feelings we struggle to confront or even ‘know’. Andrea offers a confidential and non-judgemental space to explore, at your pace, your story and what brings you to therapy. Committing to the process of therapy can elicit positive shifts in wellbeing and help you to gain insight into yourself and give you an opportunity to process feeling.

Andrea has experience in issues such as anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, low mood, relationship difficulties, suicide, bereavement, loneliness, depression, sexuality and sexual issues, anger, stress, trauma and abuse as well as an interest in working with more general feelings about feeling empty, stuck, lost and the ‘Is this it?’ unsatisfied sense about your life and where it is going.

Andrea is a warm, kind and compassionate therapist. Her style is conversational and collaborative. She works relationally which means that she encourages reflection on how you and her are interacting in the therapeutic relationship with one another and how this can put into relief how you relate outside of therapy.

After a career in law Andrea made the decision to pursue a life-long interest in psychotherapy and philosophy. Her advanced training in Existential Psychotherapy complements her integrative approach. This approach acknowledges that many of our struggles and challenges can be seen as problems of living, of relating with others, of living with uncertainty – in short, being a fallible human. That feeling we sometimes get which we cannot name – a dissatisfaction, feeling unhappy or feeling nothing, just never really being present in our lives – Andrea believes Existential Psychotherapy can offer hope – hope that we can take the courageous steps to move forward towards a life that feels more us, more authentic.

Andrea charges £80 per session for individuals and £120 for Couples.
