Neil trained as a psychotherapist at the world-renowned Tavistock Relationships in London. Neil specialises in relationship therapy, both with couples and individuals. Qualified for seven years, since then Neil has helped over 300 couples and individuals with their relationship challenges.
Neil’s previous career in marketing and business consulting helps him understand the pressures many working couples experience in life. Neil is a fully accredited member of the BACP, one of the leading professional standards bodies in the UK, and TRAPC (The Tavistock Relationships Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors). As a male relationship therapist, Neil has a particular appreciation of the difficulties that men face in family contexts.
Neil helps couples with a whole range of issues, including communication, conflict, the loss of a couple connection, the aftermath of an affair, parenting challenges, and sexual problems. Neil also works with couples who are facing separation.
With individuals, Neil works on relationship difficulties, such as finding a partner or keeping one, or the loss of a relationship. Some individual clients seek support with relationships other than intimate partners, including workplaces and broader family challenges.
Neil works with all races, cultures and genders. Neil has received additional training in Mentalisation based Therapy for couples, which can be helpful for couples who can find their arguments can get rather heated. Neil is registered with a number of leading insurance companies including WPA, Axa and Aviva (though insurers usually only fund individual therapies).
In his work, Neil works in collaboration with clients to explore their unique personalities, their ways of interacting with partners and other loved ones, and what they would like to be different in their lives. Neil aims to help clients see their challenges in a way that might not have occurred to them previously, and as well as working with conscious thoughts and feelings, helps to uncover what’s going on under the surface via a psychodynamic approach. People say Neil is kind, compassionate and creative, and strives to be non-judgemental and in the case of couples, remains neutral and objective.
Fees: £100 (individuals), £120 (couples)
